Comment:
The King Edward VII Memorial Infirmary at Bristol was opened by King George V and Queen Mary on 28 June 1912. It formed part of the Bristol Royal Infirmary founded in 1735, and was designed by Charles Holden and built at a cost of between 70,000 and 80,000 pounds. In addition to the commemorative medal a souvenir programme was published to mark the occasion, and the President and Committee of the Bristol Royal Infirmary presented an Address to the King, who with the Queen had agreed to become patrons of the Infirmary.
