Comments:
There are 2 varieties, the main distinguishing feature being the size and quality of the busts. The larger bust, extending to the edge of the medal was engraved by Thomas Shingles, at the time a private contractor (He would later be hired by the mint). The smaller, higher quality one was done by Percy Metcalfe at the Royal mint in London. All of the medals were struck at the Ottawa mint.
