Crawford differentiates 59/1a from 59/1b as straight and curved visor varieties. The curved visor varieties (59/1b, this coin) are scarce but much more common than the straight visor varieties (59/1a) which are very rare. The straight visor varieties are in the style of the caduceus series, Cr. 60.
