Crawford 78/1 may be among the earliest denari with peaked visor. Crawford suggests the staff is actually a decempeda or measuring pole as it seems to bear indications of length.

The present example shows little wear and only slightly off-center, but there is a small reverse flan chip at 10:30, and a fine crack extending from it. Otherwise, lovely toning and AEF.
