Scarce FIL AVG issue, struck at Antioch by Maximinus II who was also demoted to Filius Augustorum at the Carnuntum conference, but both were unaccepting of these downgrades from Caesar. The eastern mints Antioch and Alexandria under his control continued to use Nobilisimus Caesar on the coins for Maximinus. The GENIO F-IL AVGG reverse was only minted in Antioch and only for Constantine. Other mints under Galerius and Maximinus used GENIO CAESARIS and GENIO AVGVSTI reverses for either Constantine or Maximinus where the obverse legend designates as Filius Augustorum.

Collection : The Tetrarchy to the defeat of Maximinus 313 AD.
