The distinguishing characteristics of Crawford 164/1a include:
• Reverse stars are formed by a crescent and a line crossing forming an "X".
• Reverse near rider's cape is split into two trailing segments
• Reverse horses’ manes consist of small dots
• Obverse displays very large triangular griffon tufts

Style is similar to Cr. 165/1 – anchor series. Thought to be quite scarce at one time but many are now becoming available, though rarely in high grade. This coin is about VF.
