United States: silver Seated Liberty dime, 1856-O

Numista-9100. Struck at the New Orleans Mint.

A well-circulated but wholesome looking example, in my opinion. The reverse legend seems somewhat softly struck near the edges, but the contrasting toning is attractive.

The NGC Coin Explorer page for this date says: "Despite a generous mintage, it seems that the attrition rate for 1856 O dimes was very high. Examples are slightly scarce across all grades, and ones grading XF and higher are very scarce."
