Gaius Julius Caesar AR Denarius

Roman Republic Late 46/early 45 BCE AR Denarius Military mint travelling with Caesar in Spain. Obverse: Diademed head of Venus right, wearing earring and necklace; Cupid at shoulder behind. Reverse: Captive Gallic woman seated left in attitude of mourning and captive Gaul seated right, bound with head reverted, at base of trophy which includes carnuces.
