Richard B. Witschonke (1945-2015) was a prominent American numismatist. He assembled what was possibly the finest collection of Roman Republican coins ever held in private hands, especially for bronzes. This fabulous collection was dispersed in three sales (Triton III in 1999, NAC 61 and 63 in 2011 and 2013) as well as through many other numismatists.
