Roman Empire, Claudius II (268-270), Antoninianus, Antioch mint, 2nd emission, ? officina.
Obverse: IMP C CLAVDIVS AVG, radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind;
Reverse: SOL AVG, Sol standing left, raising right hand and holding whip in left hand, • in exergue;
Notes: Claudius II's second emission from Antioch used dots in the exergue rather than letters; it's unknown why this choice was made, but it was not popular, as it was quickly abandoned in favour of empty exergues, and all the coins from this issue are rather scarce.
