Geta, as Caesar, 198-209. Denarius (Silver, 20 mm, 3.00 g, 6 h), Rome, early 209. P SEPTIMIVS GETA CAES Bare head of Geta to right. Rev. PONTIF COS II Geta on horseback galloping to left, hurling javelin at fallen foe. BMC 591A. Cohen 130. RIC 64a. A lovely piece with a very attractive reverse. The obverse a bit weak, otherwise, good very fine.
From the Joseph Markowitz Collection (1897-1981), brought to Israel in 1949 and kept in the family ever since.
