Notebook of 64 p. dated 14 October 1899 in Montevideo. Includes "Carta dirigida a Julio Herrera y Obes", "Carta dirigida por el General Don Máximo Santos a sus amigos del Partido Colorado", "Proclama del General M. Santos en la fiesta del General Artigas", various press clippings and original handwritten letter on twelve folios, unsigned, revealing Santos' political intrigues that would lead to the resignation of Francisco Antonino Vidal as President of the Republic in 1882.
