Caesar Nerva Traianus Augustus
"Pax Romana" This term refers to the state of peace that existed both within and beyond the borders of the Roman Empire. As it was established during the reign of Augustus, it is sometimes called Pax Augusta. This period lasted from the establishment of the principate by Augustus in 27 BCE to the death of Marcus Aurelius in 180 CE.
During this time, most inhabitants of the empire enjoyed relative tranquility, though brief periods of internal conflict did occur over such an extended timeframe. The peak of peace and prosperity, when the benefits of Pax Romana were consistently experienced across most of the empire’s provinces, occurred during the so-called Golden Age of the Empire, spanning the years 96–180 CE. This era included the reigns of the emperors Nerva, Trajan, Hadrian, Antoninus Pius, and Marcus Aurelius.
