Description
Karl Lagasse is a French artist, sculptor, and creator born in 1981. He schooled in Fracasse Elementary School and later joined André Maurois high school. His artistic talent started at a younger age while painting street graffiti in Paris’s metro subways. Karl’s giant leap came in 2009 when he made a remarkable sculpture titled “One Dollar.” His success that year resulted in him being named “one of the top 10 sculptors under 30 in the world” by Artprice. After that, the artist’s works of art premiered in expositions all over the world. Some of the noteworthy ones include:
- Art Monaco with Gallery Bel-Air Fine Art (2011)
- Gallery Artco, France (2012)
In 2017, the American Film Festival of Deauville drew inspiration from Karl’s artwork to make 13 trophies for finalists in the 43rd edition of the Festival. His debut NFT drop was titled “One Dollar” and launched on MakersPlace in Summer 2021. It is a digital reinterpretation of Karl’s most emblematic masterpiece, “The Dollar.”
