Yesterday, a unique virtual auction was held on Christie's website. Following the article "Unique auction organised by Christie's: art deco, antique furniture, ceramics..." published on 26 January 2022, we would like to share the exciting news that followed. Collectors of fine art, paintings and antique furniture, beware!
The virtual auction catalogue has been updated. You can now discover the prices at which the wonderful objects of François-Joseph Graf were sold. Some of the lots in this sale, entitled "Au Bord Du Lac: An interior by François-Joseph Graf", reached astronomical prices! Indeed, bidders were out in force and fought to obtain these precious objects, sometimes at five times higher than the price estimated by the experts. The event brought in a total of €3,763,803 for Christie's in London. The results sheet published by the auction house is available here.
Unfortunately, we cannot show you everything, as there are 250 lots of objects. However, we have selected 12 pieces among the lots... Objects that sold well above their initial estimate! For your convenience, we have converted the prices from pounds sterling to euros.
We will divide them into 5 categories:
1 - Ceramics and fine porcelain
